ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) 2025: results published

On 14 July 2025, the results of the first cut-off date of the ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) call 2025 were published. A total of 480 project proposals were submitted for this first deadline, of which 150 projects were selected for funding.

On 14 July 2025, the results of the first cut-off date of the ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) call 2025 were published. A total of 480 project proposals were submitted for this first deadline, of which 150 projects were selected for funding. The ERC is providing a total of €22.5 million for this round. Each funded project will receive €150,000 to support the translation of excellent ERC-funded frontier research into potential applications or societally relevant outcomes.

The selected projects are hosted by institutions in 21 EU Member States and associated countries. The highest number of grants was awarded to researchers in Germany (27), Spain (20), and the United Kingdom (17), followed by France and the Netherlands, each with 12 PoC grants. The overall success rate for this round was 31%. More information about the results, including a list of selected projects, can be found in the ERC’s official press release.

The second and final cut-off date for the 2025 PoC call is 18 September 2025. For this round as well, the NCP ERC offers a review service for PoC proposals. The internal deadline for submitting proposals for feedback is 28 August 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
