Measures to develop and support research infrastructures in the European Research Area are funded under the first pillar, "Excellent Science", of the current Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe. Tasks of the National Contact Point for Research Infrastructures
As the German National Contact Point for Research Infrastructures, we provide information and advice to prospective applicants, applicants and participants in Horizon Europe. In particular, we perform the following tasks:
- Providing advice on the content and procedures of the Research Infrastructures programme part;
- Providing individual advice at all stages of participation;
- Providing advice that takes account of other ongoing European and, where appropriate, national funding programmes;
- Organising events to advise prospective applicants;
- Reviewing and commenting on project proposals and providing recommendations based on the evaluation criteria applied by Commission evaluators.
We also support the relevant divisions of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space on matters concerning the Research Infrastructures programme part and in connection with meetings of the Programme Committee.
The National Contact Point participates in the network project of European National Contact Points for the Research Infrastructures programme part (RICH Europe). This project also provides services for applicants and users of research infrastructures, in particular:
- Information on funding opportunities for transnational access to research infrastructures;
- Advice on project proposals from experienced Commission evaluators;
- Symposia on current topics in the field of research infrastructures.
