The European Commission has re-appointed Professor Maria Leptin as President of the European Research Council (ERC) for another two years. After almost four years in this role, her new mandate started on October 1st and runs until the end of September 2027. The three ERC Vice-Presidents Gerd Gigerenzer, Eystein Jansen and Jesper Q. Svejstrup, welcomed the decision, stressing that it ensures continuity at a crucial moment ahead of the next EU framework programme for research and innovation.
