The results of the first deadline of the Proof of Concept call 2023 are available. Out of the 122 evaluated proposals, 66 are earmarked for funding. The successful applicants are distributed across 16 countries. Nine PoC grants went to researchers based at institutions in Germany. Only researchers in the UK received more PoC grants at this cut-off (12). Applicants from Spain (8) as well as France and Italy (with six PoCs each) were very successful, too. ERC grantees who wish to explore the innovation potential of their ERC results over a period of 12 months with a lump sum of 150,000 euros can apply for a PoC. There is an annual PoC call with three deadlines spread throughout the year so far. The next and last deadline for the ERC PoC 2023 is 21 September 2023. From the ERC Work Programme 2024 onwards, there will only be two deadlines per year. More information on the results, including those proposed for funding, can be found in the ERC press release.
