The first transnational workshop "Strengthening ERC participation: from policy to practice through support mechanisms” organised by the network of National ERC Contact Points, mERCury, will take place on 19 June 2026, from 10 a.m. to 01:30 p.m. The workshop aims to explore concrete ways of further strengthening ERC participation. It is aimed at institutional and national stakeholders involved in the design and implementation of support measures for greater ERC participation (applicants are not part of the target audience). The focus is on policy frameworks and national funding mechanisms, as well as on institutional approaches to supporting ERC participation. In addition, existing practices and experiences from across Europe will be presented, particularly with regard to their relevance for Widening countries. Another key focus is on the exchange of perspectives between stakeholders.
