On November 6, 2025, the ERC published the results of the Synergy Grant Call 2025. A total of 66 research groups will be funded with a combined budget of €684 million. In total, 712 applications were submitted under the Synergy Grant Call 2025.
The selected projects involve 239 researchers, 25% of whom are women. This represents a decrease of 7 percentage points compared to the previous year. Most research institutions are located in Germany (involved in 28 projects), followed by the UK (24), France (21), and the USA (21). 28 of the 66 research groups include members from outside Europe, mainly from the USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Ghana, South Africa, and Singapore.
