On 26 October 2023, the ERC published the results of the Synergy Grant Call 2023. 37 research groups will receive a total funding of €395 million. Applicants submitted 395 proposals in the Synergy Grant 2023 call. The 37 winning projects involve 135 researchers who will carry out their projects at 114 universities and research centres in 19 countries across Europe and beyond. The most common locations are Germany (involved in 27 projects), followed by France (12), the Netherlands (7) as well as Spain, Israel, Italy, Sweden and Norway (all 5). Twenty research groups include a researcher working in the UK, Switzerland, US, Australia, Singapore and South Africa.
