ERC Work Programme 2023 announced

On 11 July 2022, the ERC published its Work Programme 2023 with a total budget of around 2.2 billion euros and containing all well-known funding programmes: Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and Synergy Grants as well as Proof-of-Concept grants.

On 11 July 2022, the ERC published its Work Programme 2023 with a total budget of around 2.2 billion euros and containing all well-known funding programmes: Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and Synergy Grants as well as Proof of Concept grants. New elements are:

  • The budget for the Proof of Concept grant scheme will increase from 25 million euros to 30 million euros.
  • For ERC Starting and Consolidator Grants:
    • As from 2023, the reference date towards the calculation of the eligibility period is the certified date of the successful defence (and not the award) of their PhD degree.
    • Two additional grounds for extension of the Starting and Consolidator eligibility windows will be introduced for researchers seeking asylum or being a victim of a natural disaster.
