On 30 June 2022, the European Research Council announced the nine finalists for this year's Public Engagement with Research Award, for which voting is now open. The laurates winners selected by the jury and the winner of the public voting will be announced by 14 July 2022 at the Euro Science Open Forum (ESOF) during a ceremony starting at 4 p.m. and livestreamed on the ERC YouTube channel.
The award is designed make those ERC grantees more visible who have demonstrated excellence in public engagement and outreach. The prize of 10,000 euros will be awarded to the best applicant in each of the three different categories (citizen science, public outreach, and media & policy).
