The European Research Council (ERC) – Opportunities for Women Scientists - Starting and Consolidator Grants

The Contact Point Women into EU Research (FiF) and the National Contact Point ERC in Germany jointly organise an event for female researchers on 26th November 2014 in Bonn. Target group is women scientists of all disciplines (2-12 years after PhD) who are interested in applying for a Starting or Consolidator Grant of the European Research Council (ERC) with a German host institution. The next deadlines for ERC Starting Grants and Consolidator Grants under the EU's framework programme "Horizon 2020" are scheduled for February and March 2015.

The event offers participants the rare opportunity to listen to and discuss the experiences of female ERC grantees and evaluators. In addition to first-hand reports, the experts will share their expertise in small group discussions and answer questions. The event will open with in-depth information about the ERC and the application process. The ERC's gender equality policy will also be highlighted.

The ERC (European Research Council) was established in 2007. It offers attractive opportunities for excellent scientists in all fields of research with funding for up to five years and up to 2 million euros. The grants aim at supporting individual researchers in building or consolidating their research careers as independent group leaders.
